TRIUMPHANT MEDIEVAL TIME

 
  The fortress takes its name from the descendants of someone known as Tederigo, whom durino the XIII century, ruled this surroundings. Attracted by the many founding of copper and silver, in 1405 the people of the Republic of Siena, conquered this land, making part of its borders.
 
  In which way this battles were fought, it is shown to us by a fresco in Sala del Gran Consiglio nel Palazzo Pubblico di Siena – in local town of Monte Massi. High up on his horse, Guidoriccio da Folignano is represented
 
 
in all his mighty, vesting an armour in the conquered fields somewhere around 1329. The painter Simone Martini depicted the triumph of the people of Siena, after a long siege in this double representation of both knight and city.
